Visiting with small children? The Kiddie Zone is a special area for under 5's only. Lots of tot-sized attractions, including a small slide, a wooden train, and a pint-sized straw tunnel. The whole area is fenced in and has a single entry/exit to make it easy for parents to monitor.

A. About Cox Farms Fall Festival

A1 What is the history of the Cox Farms Fall Festival?

Although Cox Farms was founded in 1972, it wasn't until 1981 that co-owner Eric Cox gave his first hayride at Cox Farms in Centreville. Our famous Fall Festival has been steadily growing ever since.

A2 Is Cox Farms a public park?

No! Cox Farms is a family-owned, family-operated farm & business that has been a part of the community for 37 years. See About Us for the history of Cox Farms.

A3 What is the hayride like?

Our world-famous hayride is exciting and fun, but not scary... 20 fun-filled minutes, with zany scenes and surprises around every bend. It is appropriate for all ages (although not for pregnant moms!). Every year we add new stuff. Every time you ride, you notice more!

A4 Do you have nighttime hayrides or haunted attractions?

Yes, we have Fields of Fear on  October Friday and Saturday nights.

A5 Will we be able to pick our own pumpkins from the field?

No, we can't possibly grow all of the pumpkins on our farm which are needed for the Fall
Festival, so we bring in pumpkins from other farms.

A6 For what age group is the Fall Festival suited?

The whole family enjoys the Fall Festival, with giant slides and rope swings especially popular with kids 12 and under. We also have lots of attractions (and a special under-5s Kiddie Zone) for our youngest visitors , with baby animals, small slides and a wooden train to play on. For teenagers (and their brave parents!) we have the Fields of Fear on October Friday and Saturday nights.

A7 What kind of animals do you have?

The range of animals varies, but usually includes pigs, cows, chickens, rabbits, donkeys, sheep, horses, and lots of GOATS!

A8 What is there to do at the Fall Festival?

Our 5 giant slides travel down hills, shoot out of barns, and erupt from volcanoes. We even have a multi-lane giant dino-slide! There are different sized rope swings for different ages, animals to visit, the best hayride ever, hay tunnels, food, entertainment and more. Our visitors tell us they can spend hours playing here and still not see everything.

A9 Do you offer a season pass?

Cox Farms does not offer a season pass. However, we have a Weekday Afternoon Value Card - Get 2 weekday afternoon admissions FREE when you buy 5. Click here for details.

A10 What is Pumpkin Madness Weekend?

Pumpkin Madness is our traditional two-day "grand finale" to the Fall Festival on the weekend after Halloween. Leftover pumpkins are hurled, smashed, dropped, spiked, bowled and squished. Click here for details.

B5 Do you offer any discounts for groups who cannot afford Admission?

We have Community Support grants available to groups who otherwise might not be able to attend our Fall Festival. Click here for more information.

B6 Are you handicapped-accessible?

Some of our grounds are hilly and the paths are gravel, not paved. However, we very much welcome special-needs visitors and we will do everything possible to accommodate mobility and other challenges. Please contact us in advance to discuss your requirements.

C. About Rules and Safety

C1 Do you have security?

We have Fairfax County police officers at the farm on Fall Festival weekends. Our management staff uses a radio system for quick communications. All our staff are trained to deal with security issues which may arise.

C2 Can I drop off my kids?

Absolutely not. Children under 16 must always be accompanied by an adult (18 years old or older). For safety reasons, unaccompanied minors will not be allowed into the festival. Unaccompanied minors are also not allowed to leave the festival, so be sure to take all your kids with you when you leave!

C3 Can I bring a pet?

No, pets are not allowed at Cox Farms Fall Festival (except for working dogs).

C4 Do you serve alcohol? Can I bring my own?

No, we do not serve any alcohol. You may NOT bring any onto the property.

Want to trick the kids into getting a good workout? Tackle the Festival attractions in an order that requires criss-crossing the farm while they play. (Of course, this also tricks YOU into getting a good workout...)

MORE TIPS

C5 Do you have First Aid?

Yes, we have first aid kits and ice for taking care of small cuts and bee stings. If there is an injury at the farm, we will give the first aid kits to the responsible accompanying adult or call for help if necessary. We do not have a resident nurse or first aid staff. Please advise members of your group to bring appropriate medicines if they have allergies or asthma.

C6 What if I am allergic to bees?

We don't have prescription epi-pens at the farm. If you or your child is allergic to bees, please bring your epi-pen or prescription if you have one.

C7 My child has peanut allergies...

Please be aware that our french fries are cooked in peanut oil, we prepare peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in our kitchen, and we sell peanuts and nut products at the festival. Food prepared in our kitchen may have come in contact with peanut oil or peanut butter. If you or your child has a serious peanut allergy or other food sensitivities, you will want to supply your own food and take safety steps as necessary.

Groups are welcome without reservations. Just arrive soon after 10am to stake out your favorite picnic table and put up your welcome sign.
